The Ministry of Railway’s workes under the Government of Pakistan(GOP). MOR established in May 1974 and Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad is the minister of railways today. the purpose of MOR is administrating and supervise government policies for the advancement of the national rail network, Pakistan Railways. MOR is a department of the Ministry of Communications, The ministry headquarters is located at Block D of the Pak Secretariat in Islamabad.

There are following responsibilities of MOR:
Managing global associations and remote nations;
Executing concurrences with such associations and nations;
Planning rail developments to and from ports; and,
Planning Development Programs of every railroad as a major aspect of the National Development Programs.
